Edoardo Bennato is an italian musician and singer/songwriter born in Bagnoli, a quarter of Naples, on July 23, 1949. Following a spell in London he began performing as a one-man-band playing simultaneously on guitar, harmonica, kazoo and kick drum. He shaped his character under the influence of big names of Blues and Rock such as Neil Sedaka, Paul Anka, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Ray Charles, Elvis Presley, fusing together mediterranean and neapolitan elements. His debut album called "Non farti cadere le braccia" was published in 1973 and produced by Sandro Colombini, he became the first italian artist to make video clips, debuting with songs taken from his album "Burattino senza fili" (1977) which is based on Pinocchio's fable.
